Ellen Kochansky is a very, very talented fiber artist from Pickens, South Carolina. For several months she's been in residence at 701 Columbia Center for the Arts, 701 Whaley Street, Columbia, SC. Her work has been fashioned into a textile installation called Embedded Energy. Celebrating the people, stories, and rosources of the Olympia Mill and community, this major installation will be on view from February 5 - April 5, 2009. The opening reception is this Thursday, February 5 from 7 - 9 PM. I will be attending and posting more images. The photos below were provided to me for this post.
